Scrub Nurse

**Job Summary**:
The Scrub Nurse is responsible for preparing the operating room, assisting the surgical team during procedures, and maintaining a sterile environment. They work closely with surgeons, anesthetists, and other nursing staff to ensure surgical operations are performed efficiently, safely, and with the highest standards of care.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Prepare and maintain the sterile field and surgical instruments before, during, and after surgery.
- Assist surgeons directly by passing instruments, sponges, and other necessary items during surgical procedures.
- Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are sterilized and functioning correctly.
- Conduct pre-operative checks on instruments, equipment, and surgical supplies.
- Count instruments, sponges, and needles before and after the operation to prevent retention.
- Monitor and maintain aseptic techniques and infection control practices at all times.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and respond effectively.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping related to surgical procedures.
- Collaborate with circulating nurses, anesthetists, and other OT staff for smooth surgical workflow.
- Participate in post-operative care and debriefing if needed.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- GNM/B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Must be a registered nurse with the State Nursing Council.
- Certification or experience in Operation Theatre (OT) nursing is preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in an OT setup, preferably in a multispecialty or surgical hospital.

Pay: From ₹25,000.00 per month
