Jewellery Merchandiser

A Diamond Jewellery Merchandiser is a full-time role requiring a skilled individual at work who can assess market trends by researching the market, taking cues from exhibitions and interacting with customers, Identify with expertise and design innovative and attractive jewellery pieces in accordance with brand aesthetic along with target cost points.

He or she will work directly with the organization’s leadership team (reporting to the Company’s Director).

Key Skills:
The job requires the individual to be creative, sensitive to market changes and analytical with aability to give attention to details, and presentation skills. The individual must possess a sharp memory to create evolving designs which are practical and fashionable.

- 9:00am-5:30pm ( Mon
- Sat) & all Sunday fixed off

Experience - 5+ years exp in Gems & Jewellery Industry

Pay Package: Salary UPTO 15LPA

1. Assess market trends.
- conduct research on the trends and forecast the demand for the next seasons.
- Work directly with USA-based customers. Liaison between customer, design team, manufacturing, and sales to execute the right requirement/customer demand.
- follow various jewellery design publications, exhibitions, etc., to understand new design trends.
- form hypothesis of the new design modifications required for different price points.

2. Develop jewellery design concept.
- provide visual images and photographs of the design concepts to designers.
- give instructions to designers in terms of product type, size, dimensions, shapes, materials as per research information gathered.
- get the hand sketch designs done by designers and select the designs.
- provide selected designs to CAD operator for developing 3D models with detailing and dimensions for jewellery pieces to be manufactured check quality of the hand sketch and CAD design.

3. Present the designs to senior management.
- prepare design brief in terms of uniqueness, practicality, potential in the market and price points.
- present the design concepts.
- discuss and finalize the designs.

4. Implement product development plan.
- prepare the product development plan.
- Checking the silver models and waxes.
- Quality checking of final Master samples including diamond quality.
- Possessing knowledge of precious and semi-precious gemstones, developing a color stone jewelry line.
- Communicating with outsourced vendors.
- Validating Cost cards and samples received from different vendors.
- document all the communications and suggestions related to design modification.

5. Provide marketing support.
- present the new products to the marketing team.
- jointly showcase products to the customers and in exhibitions.
- select designs for running marketing campaigns and catalogues.
- self-check each design in terms of dimensions, clarity, and practicality
- ensure timely delivery of the required number of quality approved designs.

6. Report problems related to:

- complexity of designs
- faulty equipment or software operation
- mismatch in design concept in terms of design trends, customer requirement, production limitations and the appropriate action to take if refinement or modification are required.
- reasons for anticipated delays that may adversely affect delivery.

Qualification & Experience Required
- Proven merchandising working experience of 8+years in Gems and Jewellery industry.
- Graduate from Gemological Institute of America GIA.
- Graduate Gemologist Diploma/ Graduate Diamonds Diploma /Graduate Colored Stones Diploma
- Accredited Jewellery Professional, Graduate (Creative Design School) or Jewellery Designer/ bench Jeweller.
- CAD/CAM certified from an institute of repute.

Competencies Required
- Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising campaigns that engage, inform, and motivate.
- Up to date with the latest merchandising trends and best practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Strong listening, presentation, and decision-making skills.
- Commercial acumen and the ability to “decode” customers.

**Salary**: Up to ₹1,500,000.00 per year
