store person, also known as a storekeeper or storeman, manages the inventory and operations of a store or warehouse. They receive, store, and dispatch goods, and ensure the store runs smoothly. Responsibilities Receive and store goods: Check goods for damage, and store them in the correct place Pick and pack orders: Pick stock for customer orders, and pack orders for transport Manage inventory: Maintain stock levels, replenish supplies, and rotate stock Ensure safety: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment Process paperwork: Keep records of transactions, and generate reports Order goods: Place orders to maintain stock levels Deliver goods: Load and unload vehicles, and deliver goods Answer customer inquiries: Help customers find products and resolve issues Skills and training Store people need to be able to manage inventory, lift items, and follow company guidelines. They can improve their skills by seeking mentoring opportunities from more experienced colleagues.
