Product & Marketing Intern

We are looking for a Product & Marketing Intern, someone who can support us as we create and launch our first upcycled product and our new sustainable brand. We do everything in-house, so this is an opportunity to see the entire process (product design, manufacturing, brand design, product launch, sales) and learn from it.

Someone who enjoys the intricacies of products and brands, someone who wants to learn how product and marketing are intertwined, and how that intertwining can be used to maximize value. Someone who wants to build something special.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

A degree is not essential, we are looking for someone who:

- Is aligned with Ashaya’s vision, mission and its guiding principles.

- Has excellent English writing and speaking skills.
- Has an eye for good design, products and brands.
- Has fluency with social media platforms, especially Instagram.
- Enjoys project management and building social communities and groups.
- Knows how to create, edit and publish videos (this is not essential, it would be a bonus).
- Loves to solve complex problems while embracing uncertainty.
- Is flexible at work, open to doing even the smallest tasks.
- Is a learner, a doer and a self-starter, looking to grow as an individual on a technical and personal level.
- Is comfortable working remotely (has a good laptop and internet connection).
- Is available to start immediately.

You will:

- Support the entire process of product design to brand creation to eventual product launch.
- Create content for social media channels, PR outlets and our website, with the ethos of our brand in mind.
- Run brainstorming sessions, and conduct market research on distribution channels, product demand and brand fit.
- Support the overall research and development initiatives to make Ashaya a cutting-edge organization in the waste management space.
- Work closely with the rest of the team in a fast-paced, energetic, start-up environment to optimize our organization to perform at its peak. This includes being open to doing the smallest of tasks, in addition to the more complex ones.
- Be a part of the founding team to shape Ashaya’s goals, its culture and its future.

Your compensation:
We understand that joining an early-stage start-up is a risk. This is a remote opportunity of 3 - 6 months that could convert to a full-time job if that fits into our overall strategy. With that in mind, this is what we offer:

- A monthly stipend of Rs 10,000. We know that’s not a lot, but we are a bootstrapped, pre-revenue, deep-tech startup, so this is the best we can currently do.
- An opportunity to work with and learn from top marketing executives from all over the world who serve as our advisors, while seeing the birth of a product and a brand from scratch.
- The potential for this opportunity to convert into a full-time position unlocking equity in the social enterprise and employee benefits. Please note this depends on both the level of your contribution, and our ability to afford the position.
