**Job Description: Draughtsman (Machine Manufacturing)**

**Position Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Design and Drafting**:

- Develop 2D and 3D CAD drawings for machinery, parts, and assemblies based on project requirements.
- Create detailed technical documentation, including assembly instructions, fabrication drawings, and specifications.
- **Collaboration**:

- Work closely with design engineers, project managers, and production teams to understand project requirements and translate concepts into manufacturable designs.
- Assist in refining designs for improved functionality, efficiency, and manufacturability.
- **Material and Component Selection**:

- Specify appropriate materials, dimensions, and tolerances based on design requirements and industry standards.
- Identify and source standardized components where applicable.
- **Quality Assurance**:

- Review and revise drawings to ensure they meet technical, safety, and quality standards.
- Maintain an organized library of drawings and technical documents for future reference.
- **Problem-Solving**:

- Address design challenges during the manufacturing process and propose practical solutions.
- Update designs to resolve manufacturing or operational issues.
- **Compliance and Standards**:

- Ensure all designs adhere to relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations.
- Stay updated on advancements in drafting technologies and manufacturing techniques.

**Qualifications**:

- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Draughtsman in the machine manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
- Familiarity with machining processes, fabrication techniques, and manufacturing standards.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including gears, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.

**Preferred Skills**:

- Experience with CAM software or CNC programming.
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Familiarity with industry-specific software like Autodesk Inventor or Siemens NX.
- Basic knowledge of FEA (Finite Element Analysis) tools for stress and performance testing.
