**Job description**
An Assistant/ Associate Professor is an academic position in an Institute, primarily focused on teaching, research, and service. They typically teach a range of courses, conduct research, publish scholarly papers, and advise students. Assistant Professors also participate in departmental activities and may serve on university committees.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Teaching**:Preparing and delivering lectures, conducting exams, grading assignments, and advising students on academic matters.
- **Research**:Conducting original research, publishing findings in scholarly journals, and presenting research at conferences.
- **Service**:Participating in departmental meetings, serving on university committees, and contributing to the overall academic environment.
- **Mentorship**:Advising graduate and undergraduate students, mentoring teaching assistants, and providing guidance to junior faculty.
- **Course Development**:Developing and updating course materials, syllabi, and assignments.
- **Administrative Tasks**:Handling administrative duties related to teaching, research, and departmental activities.
**Qualifications**:
- Specifically requires a Ph.D. and Master's degree in English.
- **UGC NET** Qualified
- Demonstrated ability to teach effectively and conduct research.
- **Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.**:
- A portfolio of published research articles may be desirable.
In essence, an Assistant Professor is a vital part of the academic community, contributing to the education, research, and overall vision and Mission of the university & Institute.
