**Stem Cell Biologist: Job Description**

**Overview**:
Tropical Animal Genetics Pvt Ltd is a bovine genetics oriented company, which is involved in improving the genetics of cattle in India. We are searching for a Research Scientist to assist with our ongoing stem cell research project for cell derived bovine embryos. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: ES and iPS cell generation, culture, and differentiation; stem cell medium development; primary mammalian cell isolation, culture and characterization; research and development of cell culture models; and general laboratory safety.

**Responsibilities**:

- Design, execute, and analyze experiments to advance TAG’s Cell Derived Embryo Development

Program.
- Build assays that allow the genetic, phenotypic, and functional characterization of bovine embryonic stem cell lines (ESCs), iPSCs,, and/or other cell types
- Develop and optimize protocols for high-throughput engineering of bovine embryonic cells and derived cell lines
- Identify innovative solutions to solve key scientific challenges required for program success
- Drive effective communication and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team to advance program objectives
- Implement and maintain bovine primary cell culture, characterization, and banking standards and related records
- Responsible for execution of product development related activities in the Cell Derived Embryo

Models. Execution of methods of the culturing, characterization, expansion and cryopreservation of a wide variety of cellular models.

**Required Qualifications**:

- Ph.D. in cell biology, immunology, biochemistry, developmental biology, molecular biology, or a related discipline
- 2 to 3 Years of Experience in postdoc or industry setting.
- Specialized expertise in the derivation, culture and characterization of primary mammalian cell lines, human pluripotent stem cells, ES and iPS cell generation, stem cell medium development research and development of cell culture models.
- Experience with high-throughput workflows and automation
- Proficiency in viral delivery methods (lenti, rAAV, etc.)
- Deep understanding of genome integrity and mechanisms that promote mammalian genome stability
- Experience with single cell genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic analyses
- Direct experience working with genome editing tools in mammalian cells (CRISPR-Cas)
- Experience developing assays to characterize mammalian pluripotent stem cells including multicolor flow cytometry and qPCR
