You’ll be working with the **Strategic Partnership** team.

This team runs on coffee, supplier evaluations, partnership agreements, and production order books. The team has an infectious passion for building deep and engaging partnerships with our suppliers, vendors, and partners.

**What you will do**:

- Work closely with the Engineering & Product Development teams to take various components and subsystems of the products to production
- Engage deeply with a set of vendors and suppliers to develop necessary capabilities, establish the correct value chains, optimize the cost of products and provide any support needed for the timely supply of components and subsystems

**Responsibilities**:

- Build relationships with suppliers and establish long-term contracts with key suppliers, including costs and terms of supply, service, and quality
- Build and launch RFQ, get the quotations, handle the negotiation, and understand and manage the inflation of raw material.
- Track material content and commodity prices to understand and forecast the pricing trends and take necessary steps to optimize for cost and timely delivery
- Drive De-risking (alternate source developments / new technology supplier inclusion)
- Lead the discussions and structure new product development with suppliers to ensure Exponent’s competitiveness over future product development

**Requirements**:

- Understanding or past experience in electronics/battery product development or sourcing
- Understanding of the principles of ‘should costing’
- Ability to develop & evaluate proposals independently with suppliers & component manufacturers
- Understanding of the supply chain and the ability to define and implement an MSA
- Prior experience in sourcing critical components from suppliers in China/Korea/Japan
