**ABOUT THE ROLE**
- The primary job purpose is to design and develop packaging structures for the safe and secure transit of fragile furniture, lighting and houseware products to overseas markets, primarily to the US.
- Understand requirements of US Retail Stores, and E Commerce. Develop an understanding of transportation and handling of packages at Client Warehouses and Distribution Centres and then customize packaging designs as per suitability. Ensure compliance with the Clients packaging standards and regulatory requirements.
- Work directly with the Client packaging counterpart ( Packaging Director / Manager ) to develop and implement new packaging solutions, and also understand returns due to packaging and breakages in transit. Implement Corrective Action Plans, to reduce and eliminate breakages and damages due to packaging.
- Understand Sustainable packaging and work towards that objective. Reduction of wastage and recycling of packaging material, should be considered during package development.

**JOB ACCOUNTABILITIEST**
- Review client requirements and work with the vendors and factories to deliver a protective and cost-effective new product development and conceptual packaging design
- Propose and develop innovative and sustainable packaging solutions
- As required, prepare engineering drawings by AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Pro-E, 3ds Max, etc., or selected material to fulfill the testing requirements
- Ensure test samples are fully evaluated to meet the client’s packaging and quality requirements
- Support and Communicate with Merchants, Quality Assurance & Technicians to analyze and follow up on the root cause of damage and quality callouts and discrepancies to address consequent change and propose a solution
- Provide technical advice and suggestions, in conjunction with the Technical and Quality Assurance Managers, for process improvement and failure analysis, distinguishing if failures are related to the manufacturing process, product, or packaging design
- To minimize the damage and return rates of our clients to achieve their key performance indicators

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, Post Graduate Diploma in Packaging from the IIP is required Packaging related course or related disciplines
- With three years or more experience in product engineering/packaging development project management
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes
- Verbal and written communication skills in English
- Proficiency in 3D drawing software, such as AutoCAD, Solidworks, Pro-E, 3ds Max, etc.
- Attention to detail, solution-oriented mindset
- In-country travel is required
