**Job Title**: IPDRG Medical Coder

**Location**: Chennai

**Job Type**: Full-Time/On-site

**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Review inpatient medical records to accurately assign **ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes** in compliance with official coding guidelines.
- Ensure correct **MS-DRG/APR-DRG assignment** for accurate reimbursement and reporting.
- Validate clinical documentation to support diagnoses, procedures, and DRG grouping.
- Collaborate with clinical documentation improvement (CDI) teams to clarify inconsistencies or incomplete data.
- Meet or exceed productivity and quality standards for coding accuracy and timeliness.
- Stay updated with changes in coding guidelines, compliance regulations, and payer requirements.
- Participate in internal audits, training, and quality assurance processes.

**Required Qualifications**:

- Certification**:CPC (AAPC), CIC (AHIMA/AAPC), or CCS (AHIMA)** - _at least one is mandatory_
- Minimum **6 Months** of inpatient hospital coding experience (preferably IPDRG-related)
- Strong knowledge of **ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and DRG classification systems**:

- Familiarity with hospital EMR/EHR systems and encoder tools (e.g., 3M, TruCode)
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive data

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Experience with **clinical documentation improvement (CDI)**:

- Prior work in a **tertiary care hospital or academic medical center**:

- Experience with **Medicare/Medicaid coding rules and compliance standards**:

- Knowledge of quality measures and pay-for-performance coding impacts

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
