**Job Title: 3D Character Artist**

As a 3D Character Artist, you will be responsible for creating visually stunning and lifelike characters for use in animated films, virtual reality experiences, and other digital media projects. Your role will involve conceptualizing, modeling, texturing, and sculpting characters that captivate audiences and enhance storytelling. You will collaborate closely with art directors, animators, and technical artists to ensure that characters meet artistic vision, technical requirements, and project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conceptualize and design original character concepts that align with project requirements, artistic vision, and target audience preferences.
- Create detailed 3D character models using industry-standard software such as Autodesk Maya, ZBrush, Blender, or similar tools, ensuring accuracy, proportion, and visual appeal.
- Sculpt high-resolution character models, paying attention to anatomical accuracy, surface details, and character personality traits.
- Texture characters using a variety of techniques, including hand-painting, photo-realistic texturing, and procedural texture generation, to achieve desired visual aesthetics and surface qualities.
- Collaborate with riggers and animators to ensure that character models are properly prepared and optimized for animation, including rigging, skinning, and blend shape setup.
- Iterate on character designs and revisions based on feedback from art directors, animators, and other stakeholders, ensuring that characters meet project requirements and quality standards.
- Work closely with art directors and production teams to meet project deadlines, milestones, and deliverables, and communicate effectively to address any challenges or issues that arise during the character creation process.
- Document character creation processes, techniques, and best practices, and provide training and support to junior artists and team members as needed.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment, sharing knowledge, ideas, and feedback with team members to foster creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Digital Arts, Animation, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience as a 3D character artist in the animation, gaming, or entertainment industry, with a strong portfolio showcasing character modeling, texturing, and sculpting skills.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling and sculpting software such as Autodesk Maya, ZBrush, Blender, Mudbox, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of anatomy, form, proportion, and character design principles, with the ability to create visually appealing and believable character designs.
- Experience with texture painting, UV mapping, and material/shader creation techniques, as well as knowledge of PBR (Physically Based Rendering) workflows and techniques.
- Excellent artistic and creative skills, with a keen eye for detail, composition, and color theory, as well as the ability to adapt to various artistic styles and project requirements.
- Solid understanding of character rigging, animation principles, and character pipeline workflows, with the ability to collaborate effectively with riggers and animators to optimize character performance and functionality.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate artistic concepts and ideas clearly and concisely.
- Passion for character art, storytelling, and digital entertainment, with a drive to push creative boundaries, explore new techniques, and deliver high-quality character artwork that engages and inspires audiences.
