SELCO Foundation is an open source, not for profit organization that engages in field-based R&D and ecosystem building for deployment of clean energy solutions that alleviate poverty in tribal, rural and urban poor areas. The organization works in collaboration with practitioners in the social sector, energy entrepreneurs, NGOs from various developmental sectors and educational institutions to link the benefits of sustainable energy to poverty eradication. **The Role**:
SELCO Foundation is looking for a highly motivated individual who is passionate about working in the overall sustainable energy sector for last mile communities. The broader goal is to use decentralized renewable energy to facilitate increased incomes and productivity, improve well being, reduce drudgery etc. through the integration of climate inclusive technologies into livelihood practices for the underserved communities.

The Content Writer for Outreach & Communications at SELCO Foundation would help us to enrich our websites with new blog posts, newsletters and social media copies. The content writer's responsibilities would include evaluating analytics to adjust content as needed, updating the organization's website, and coordinating with the on-ground teams for curating the requisite content. The content writer should be able to consistently keep abreast of the latest developments in the domains that SELCO Foundation is engaged in. They should also have the skills to be able to contribute to the development of content curation & production strategies that will increase reader engagement.

**Key responsibilities for the position**:

- Prepare well-structured drafts strictly within deadlines and create compelling headlines & body copies that will capture the attention of the target audience
- Conduct in-depth research on sectoral trends, and identify & address informational needs of key stakeholders
- Coordinate with design and ground teams to illustrate articles based on key projects/priority areas/programmes/work themes
- Edit and refine existing content to improve readability & increase engagement as per target audience
- Curate donor reports, newsletters, website content, blogs, and articles as per requirement & target audience

**Who can apply**:

- Practical, hands-on experience of a minimum of 3 years in creative writing, journalism, media, content marketing, communications, PR or an allied field
- Experience in journalism, media relations, creative writing or editorial management is required. Mixed/ diverse experiences are preferred
- Self-motivated, responsible and should be engaged and highly interested in the developmental agenda
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral with an excellent hold on the English language
- String hold on any other local language - Hindi, Kannada, Odiya and Assamese would be an added advantage
- Ability to work in an interdisciplinary and multicultural environment.
- Willingness to travel.
