**Vision**
All the recent innovations in the Gen AI space have set the basis for a change in the way we work and how we interact with technology. Gen AI offers an unprecedented ability to understand our requests and generate high quality context in multiple modalities, including text, image, video and music, among others. While the first wave of Gen AI innovations has had a special focus on the cloud, there is strong impetus for offerings that live on the edge, where one can tightly control and secure personal data access, improve responsiveness and can reduce execution costs.

In this context, the AI Lab, within the HP’s Future Technologies and Experiences team (FT&E) is conducting applied research in Gen AI with a focus on the edge. The resulting innovations will influence the HP Personal Systems product portfolio.

**Job details**

**Responsibilities**
- Provides technology leadership in AI/ML with deep expertise in large **vision models** (LVMs).
- Demonstrates expertise in **language models** and/or **reinforcement learning.**:

- Leads innovation that improves on the state of the art.
- Works with technologists and business unit leaders on model strategy from concept to deployment.
- Works with University partners on joint research efforts.
- Prepares and makes presentations, produces patents, and publishes in industry/academic conferences.
- Provides domain-specific expertise in cross-organization projects/initiatives.
- Ties insights into effective visualizations communicating business value and innovation potential.
- Assures insights are communicated regularly and effectively, reviewing models and data compliance.

**Education & Experience Recommended**
- Graduate Degree (typically a PhD) in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
- Typically has 3+ years of work experience, preferably in machine learning, or a related field.
- A track record of demonstrated innovation (patents/publications/product contributions).
- A track record of product contributions and technology leadership.
