Job Description Summary

Under the supervision of a team leader, this position is responsible for the efficient operation, performance, and safety of all palletizers. This individual is responsible for inspecting and maintaining operated equipment as well as setting up equipment after a cut change, clearing jams, communicating about material needs and bottlenecks throughout the process. They are also responsible for the operation of the shrink wrappers and vision system. They will be responsible for the pallet sifting process. The Palletizer Operator must be able to qualify under the Lamb Weston Powered Industrial Vehicle training as they will be operating a forklift. They will be required to enter data into the LEDs computer system in compliance with direction from DDS team and direct supervision. Employee must be able to operate and troubleshoot the auto manifest system. Perform all AMD activities as needed.

Job Description

SPECIFIC DUTIES

Employee is responsible for maintaining a 5S environment. Employee is responsible for sorting and loading pallets, slip and tie sheets, and taking bad pallets to AMC. Employee must perform all required safety and training requirements and adhere to all required safety rules/regulations. Employee is responsible for performing center-lining audits. Employee must rework open flap cases. Employee must re-wrap pallets that are brought back to the line to be re-worked. Employee needs to understand how to start/stop palletizers, adjust SKU’s and case counts on pallets, readjust the vision system, correct shrink wrap and all pertinent conveyors issues. Employee needs to unplug palletizers when they plug up. Employee has to be certified on Fork Lift/PIV. Employee is responsible for manually moving pallets(purging) of product from the palletizer and correcting layer head faults. Must follow all plant and job specific safety duties. Maintain good personal hygiene. Needs to maintain good records of supplies dispersed. Works all cleanups as assigned. Keeps all tools and equipment not in use in their assigned locations. Aids in the training of newer employees as directed by the supervisory staff. Employee is responsible for bailing cardboard produced on shift. _Other duties may be assigned by supervisors as needed._

PREREQUISITE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must be able to communicate effectively and understand both verbal and written instructions. Must have a basic mechanical aptitude. Understands basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must be able to move up and down stairs throughout the shift. Must be able to obtain a forklift certification.
