**Job Summary**:The IGCSE English Faculty will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in the English language and literature, specifically tailored to the requirements of the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) curriculum. This role involves fostering a supportive learning environment, facilitating student engagement with literary texts, and preparing students for IGCSE examinations.
**Roles and Responsibilities**:
**Curriculum Implementation**:
- Develop and implement instructional plans aligned with the IGCSE English language and literature syllabus, ensuring coverage of key concepts, skills, and assessment objectives.
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies, resources, and technologies to enhance student engagement and understanding of course content.
**Literary Analysis and Comprehension**:
- Guide students in analyzing and interpreting a range of literary texts, including novels, poetry, plays, and non-fiction, fostering critical thinking and literary appreciation.
- Facilitate class discussions, debates, and projects that encourage students to explore themes, characters, and socio-cultural contexts within literary works.
**Language Skills Enhancement**:
- Integrate language skills development into instructional activities, focusing on grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, and oral communication skills.
- Create opportunities for authentic language use through role-plays, presentations, debates, and collaborative projects.
**Writing Proficiency Development**:
- Support students in honing their writing skills across various genres, including narrative, descriptive, persuasive, and analytical writing.
- Provide instruction on grammar, vocabulary, and stylistic conventions to enhance students' written expression and communication skills.
- Provide constructive feedback on students' writing assignments, essays, and compositions to support their growth as effective communicators.
**Assessment and Evaluation**:
- Design and administer formative and summative assessments to measure student progress, identify learning needs, and inform instructional planning.
- Analyze assessment data to monitor student achievement, track growth, and implement targeted interventions as necessary.
**Exam Preparation**:
- Prepare students for the IGCSE English language and literature examinations by familiarizing them with exam formats, question types, and assessment criteria.
- Conduct mock examinations, practice exercises, and revision sessions to build students' confidence and readiness for the final assessments.
- Organize review sessions, practice tests, and exam strategies workshops to enhance students' confidence and performance in the final assessments.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in English Literature, English Language Teaching, or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of the IGCSE English language and literature syllabus, assessment requirements, and examination expectations.
- Previous experience teaching or coordinating the IGCSE curriculum in an international school setting.(Atleast 2years)
**Skills**:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage students in meaningful learning experiences.
- Effective classroom management skills and the ability to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated on pedagogical trends and educational research in English language teaching.
