
Dietician / Nutritionist (Healthcare)

**Job Summary**:
The Dietitian will be responsible for providing nutritional care and guidance to patients based on their medical condition and dietary needs. They will work closely with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to create and implement nutrition plans that promote the health and recovery of patients.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Nutritional Assessment**:
- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for patients.
- Analyze patients' medical histories, lab results, and dietary intake to determine nutritional needs.
**Diet Planning and Counseling**:
- Develop individualized nutrition plans for patients based on their specific conditions (e.g., diabetes, renal disease, cardiovascular conditions, etc.).
- Provide counseling and education to patients and their families on proper nutrition and dietary habits.
**Monitoring and Evaluation**:
- Monitor patients' progress and modify nutrition plans as needed.
- Document patient progress and any changes in their nutritional status.
**Interdisciplinary Collaboration**:
- Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to integrate nutrition care into the overall treatment plan.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and patient care rounds.
**Food Service Management**:
- Work with the hospital kitchen staff to ensure that meals provided align with the nutritional needs and preferences of patients.
- Develop and review menus to ensure compliance with dietary guidelines and patient needs.
**Education and Training**:
- Provide training and support to hospital staff on nutrition-related topics.
- Stay updated on the latest nutrition research and guidelines.
**Administrative Duties**:
- Maintain accurate records of patient consultations and progress.
- Prepare reports and contribute to the development of hospital nutrition policies and procedures.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field.
- Registered Dietitian (RD) or equivalent certification.
- 1-3 years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of clinical nutrition, medical nutrition therapy, and dietary guidelines.
- Excellent communication and counseling skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a healthcare team
**Working Conditions**:
- Work is performed in a hospital environment.
- May require standing for long periods during consultations and meal service evaluations.
- Interaction with patients who may be critically ill or have special dietary needs.
