Kathak Trainer

**Position Overview**:
We are seeking a talented and dedicated Kathak Dance Trainer to join our team and impart the rich heritage and intricate artistry of Kathak dance to aspiring dancers. As a Kathak Dance Trainer, you will play a pivotal role in preserving and passing on this classical Indian dance form, fostering a deep connection with culture, rhythm, and expression.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop and deliver comprehensive Kathak dance curricula that cater to students with varying levels of experience, from beginners to advanced practitioners.
- Teach the foundational elements of Kathak, including footwork (tatkar), hand gestures (mudras), body movements (angas), and expressions (abhinaya).
- Instruct on the rhythmic intricacies of Kathak, including tala (rhythm cycles), bols (syllabic patterns), and laya (tempo), enabling students to master the complex rhythmic compositions.
- Lead students in learning traditional Kathak compositions (bandishes) and choreographies, fostering an understanding of the connection between movement and music.
- Share insights on the historical and cultural significance of Kathak dance, highlighting its roots and evolution within Indian classical dance traditions.
- Conduct live dance demonstrations, interactive workshops, and individual coaching sessions to provide students with hands-on learning experiences.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive learning environment that encourages participants to share their progress, provide feedback, and learn from each other's journeys.
- Provide guidance on stage presence, storytelling through dance, and connecting with audiences during performances.
- Stay informed about emerging trends in Kathak dance, innovations in choreography, and the fusion of traditional and contemporary elements within the art form.
- Utilize multimedia tools and resources to enhance dance instruction, including visual aids, video demonstrations, and cultural context.

**Qualifications**:

- Proficiency in Kathak dance, with a strong background and training in the classical dance form.
- In-depth knowledge of Kathak dance techniques, including footwork, gestures, expressions, and rhythmic patterns.
- Effective communication skills to teach dance concepts, provide feedback, and engage with students.
- Prior teaching, workshop facilitation, or coaching experience in Kathak dance is beneficial.
- Passion for preserving and sharing the cultural heritage and beauty of Kathak dance.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles and participant backgrounds.
- Keen attention to detail to provide precise guidance on dance movements and expressions.
- Strong organizational skills to develop lesson plans, choreographies, and teaching materials.
- Enthusiasm for staying informed about current trends in Kathak dance, performances, and artistic collaborations.
