**Job Description: Line Cook (Commis 2) - Base Kitchen**

**Position**: Line Cook (Commis 2)
**Department**: Base Kitchen
**Location**: Chandigarh
**Reporting to**: Sous Chef / Kitchen Supervisor

**Role Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Food Preparation**:

- Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning.
- Follow recipes and standard operating procedures to ensure consistency in food quality.
- **Cooking Duties**:

- Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, and ovens as required.
- Execute basic cooking tasks like frying, sautéing, grilling, or steaming under the supervision of senior staff.
- **Quality Control**:

- Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented according to the restaurant's quality and safety standards.
- Monitor food freshness and report any quality issues to the supervisor.
- **Cleanliness and Hygiene**:

- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to sanitation and safety regulations.
- Participate in daily cleaning schedules for kitchen equipment and storage areas.
- **Inventory and Stock Management**:

- Assist in receiving, labeling, and storing kitchen supplies.
- Report shortages or discrepancies in stock to the Kitchen Supervisor.
- **Collaboration and Teamwork**:

- Work closely with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy hours.
- Assist senior chefs and take up additional responsibilities as required.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Proven experience as a Commis 2 or similar role, preferably in a QSR or fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Basic understanding of food safety standards and kitchen hygiene.
- Ability to follow recipes and directions precisely.
- Team player with excellent communication skills.
- Physical stamina to work in a high-pressure environment.

**Educational Requirements**:

- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary certification is a plus.
