**How your day will unfold**:
The position is most suited to an individual who has an interdisciplinary management experience working on food sustainability sector in India and has exceptional research and communication skills. Experience of working with food supply chain actors must. Understanding of challenges in reducing food loss and waste across the supply chain is expected. The position holder must be willing to travel to remote locations in the country as necessary.
- Developing science-based research framework to understand the different sources and reasons for food loss and waste in India and associated analysis like identifying interventions for a particular sub-sector or value chain to reduce food loss and waste.
- Support in developing high-quality knowledge products (reports, policy briefs, working papers) that encapsulate research findings and communicate these to diverse audiences, for influencing initiatives on reducing food loss and waste especially across the food supply chain actors.
- Research and innovation around development and implementation of sustainable practices in food supply chains, and achievement of nutrition security, climate impacts, inter alia imbibing circularity principles.
- Stay updated on international and national issues on food loss and food waste and propose strategic opportunities for the program that aligns with strategy.
- Support the team in organising stakeholder interactions, (identifying new as well as building on existing relations) coordinating with program partners, ecosystem partners and follow-ups for program delivery
- Identify relevant innovators and business models that can support in reducing food loss and waste across the supply chains
- Support with development of communication and outreach strategy and material like brochures, web content, op-eds, blogs for reducing food loss and waste with the communications team
- Input into ongoing program activities to ensure the timely delivery of deliverables and achievements of milestones and program delivery.

**Qualifications and requirements we seek**:

- Master’s degree (or PhD) in management, finance, economics, food sustainability and supply chains disciplines.
- At least 5 years post-study research experience relating to management, finance, economics, food sustainability and supply chains disciplines.
- Experience of working with food supply chain actors and private sector a must
- Understanding of challenges in reducing food loss and waste across the supply chain
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently as well as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner
- Ability to work calmly and enthusiastically under high pressure and ability to think creatively
- Demonstrated skills preparing programme documents, reports, policy briefs etc. and team management.
- General awareness of the environment, food domain - key issues, events and updates is essential
- Strong ability to communicate clearly and effectively in conversation and writing, including professional-quality writing for policy and communications products.
- Fluency in spoken and written English is essential. Additional proficiency in Hindi and Marathi will be advantageous.
- Flexible and self-motivated, with capacity to multi-task and prioritize, a self-starter having ability to manage the tasks with minimum guidance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is a requirement.

**Salary and Benefits**: INR 11,00,000 to INR 13,00,000 CTC

Salary shall be commensurate with experience and skills. Offers a generous and comprehensive benefits package.

**Salary**: ₹700,000.00 - ₹1,300,000.00 per year
