**Main Objective of the Role**

Under general direction provides patient care to patients. Assumes primary responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care in Operation Theater. Manager and co-ordinates the overall clinical activities in Operation Theater and assigning nursing and anesthesia technicians on a specific shift.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Receiving indents.
- To prepare a duty roster for the staff.
- To check the booking register a day before surgery, for the special requirement and to coordinate with the surgeon & anesthetist.
- To ensure that aseptic technique is maintained strictly in OT.
- To check whether the consumable instruments and equipment are available for the surgery.
- To ensure that all the equipment is functioning properly.
- To check if all surgeries on completion are documented properly.
- To maintain the emergency stock in Operation Theatre.
- To coordinate with Operation Theatre technician, biochemical and housekeeping staff.
- To ensure that the postoperative patients are handled carefully in the recovery room and transferred properly according to the protocol.
- To serve as a positive role model

**Major Job Qualifications / Specific Skills**
- Required Education: GNM/B.Sc (Nursing)
- Experience: 17 - 20 Years

**Required Critical Behavioral Competencies**
