Student Counselor

Position Overview:
As a Student Counselor at SPES EDUCATION, you will play a crucial role in supporting the academic, emotional, and personal development of students. You will work closely with students, parents, and teachers to provide guidance, counseling, and resources to help students navigate through their educational journey successfully. The aim is to ensure that students have the necessary support and tools to excel academically and grow personally.

**Responsibilities**:
1. Counseling Services:

- Provide one-on-one counseling sessions to students to address academic, personal, and emotional concerns.
- Conduct assessments to identify students' strengths, weaknesses, and areas of improvement.
- Develop personalized intervention plans to help students overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
- Assist students in developing effective study skills, time management techniques, and stress management strategies.
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to monitor students' progress and implement necessary interventions.

2. Crisis Intervention and Support:

- Offer immediate support and counseling to students facing crises, such as academic setbacks, personal issues, or emotional distress.
- Coordinate with appropriate professionals, such as psychologists or social workers, to provide additional support when needed.
- Implement strategies to promote a safe and inclusive environment for students, ensuring their mental well-being.

3. Resource Coordination:

- Maintain an up-to-date database of resources, including scholarships, internships, and educational programs, to support students' academic and career development.
- Collaborate with external organizations, colleges, and universities to provide students with access to relevant resources and opportunities.
- Organize workshops, seminars, and information sessions to educate students and parents about various educational options and programs available.

4. Documentation and Reporting:

- Keep accurate records of counseling sessions, interventions, and students' progress.
- Prepare reports and communicate regularly with school administrators, teachers, and parents regarding students' counseling outcomes and recommendations.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines while handling sensitive student information.

**Requirements**:

- Relevant counseling experience, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build trust and rapport with students, parents, and teachers.
- Knowledge of counseling techniques, assessments, and intervention strategies.
- Understanding of educational systems, career pathways, and college admission processes.
- Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards for student counselors.
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to work with diverse student populations.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage caseloads and administrative tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in using counseling software, databases, and technology tools.
