In this role, you will be in collaboration significantly with Operations, Maintenance & contractor staff. You will provide coaching within Operational HSSE skill pool, to staff and contractor partners to raise safety culture. Lastly, you will be collaborating with Government Authorities during site visit
**What’s the role?**
As the HSE Advisor, you will be accountable for providing safety expertise and advice to both staff and contract partners on best practices, requirements, and actions needed to establish and sustain a generative safety culture.
Furthermore, you will be responsible to support the leadership in the implementation, monitoring, and assurance aspect of the HSSE management system. This encompasses site operational HSE activities, behavior based HSE programs, and legal & group standards.
Additional responsibilities are as follows:
- Track, analyze and systematically report HSE performance with key leading and lagging performance indicators, highlights, and lowlights, identify areas of improvement, and develop strategies and tactics to address the shortfalls sustainably.
- Maintained details knowledge of current safety issues, audit findings, and compliance status against applicable laws, regulations, Shell HSSE & SP, and external audits across the site.
- Proactively ensure that all activities during day-to-day operation are executed with no harm to personal, environment, and assets by the agreed procedure. This includes regular participation and provision of advice in the Hazards and effect management process - JHA, RA, FLBM program, and HSSE leadership program.
- Conduct regular assurance activities on critical safety procedures and activities e.g. Permit to Work, Heavy lifting, Confined space entry through process efficiency review and site verification activity.
- Develop and deliver a yearly training plan for the HSE department.
- Coordinate training with the respective department. Ensure effective usage of the database to manage, deliver, track and report training data to the HSE manager.
- Ensure all training requirements are well defined and effectively embedded into up-to-date controlled documents and monitor changing requirements keeping stakeholders well informed of potential impact and documenting actions.
- Ensure safety display of the site through procurement, installation, and quality of safety display boards and signages.
- Ensure overall Road Safety performance improvements are achieved and the Road Safety program meets SEIPL needs. This includes providing support in implementing global road safety standards, Tools, and best practices and providing assurance on road safety practices for SEIPL through audits.
- Ensure and establish the contractor HSE organogram, team competence, and ways of working to ensure Goal Zero through sustained implementation of Shell HSE requirements during various construction projects.
- Liaise with legal authorities in line with Shell Code of Conduct
**What We Need from You**
- Must have a Degree in Engineering or equivalent graduate in science (a certificate from a recognized institute of Safety skills is an advantage)
- Certified Internal Auditor for ISO 14001.
- A solid five (5) years minimum experience in HSE preferably in an operations and construction environment.
- A Self-starter and work as a team member
