**About the team: Central Design Team**

The Paytm Central Design team is responsible for all the Product Design and Research work related to various products. The team mainly looks at the design of the Paytm consumer app and the products in the Merchant Ecosystem comprising of the Paytm for Business (P4B) app, the EDC and POS Devices, the Golden Gate app (the FSE ecosystem), the Unified Merchants Portal (UMP), Net Banking Panel, Boss Panel.The Paytm Central Design Team is divided into different deltas and various products are aligned with each of the Deltas.The Paytm Official Design System (PODS) team and the UX Audit team is responsible for ensuring the consistency across the different products and adherence to good UX principles. The User Research Team looks at understanding user behavior and also the usage of the various products once it's live.

**About the role**:
As a product designer, you will be in a fast paced environment, and your day-to-day tasks will consist of engaging with product managers and other stakeholders, to understand the requirements and creating well designed flows, high and low fidelity prototypes,and visual interfaces for a good user experience. You will use your knowledge of design, expertise and skills to design products for these specific responsibilities assigned to you.

**Expectations/Requirements**:

- Working closely with design stakeholders to enhance current design components and patterns and introducing new ones as needed through collaboration and creative brainstorming
- Practicing regression and linting best practices to ensure a high level of assurance and reliability on the design system
- Systemizing design system assets like icons and illustrations at scale
- Ensuring design system is up-to-date and relevant to industry trends and emerging technologies
- Contribution towards the development of design system guidelines, documentation, and processes
- Working hand-in-hand with developers to ensure the design system is implemented flawlessly and functions effectively across different platforms.
- Active participation in asset, component, and design pattern refactoring activities.
- Conducting regular design system audits and checks to provide feedback to designers on their design work
- Advocate for design system best practices and standards to ensure that the design system is efficient and effective
- Driving Design System QA and UAT

**Superpowers/ Skills that will help you succeed in this role**
- Understanding of design token-based systems and their role in maintaining design consistency, flexibility, and scalability, Industry experience of 3-5 Years
- Understanding of contributing and maintaining an established tokenized design system
- Ability to collaborate and communicate with both designers and developers to strengthen a collaborative design system ecosystem
- Strong foundation in design principles, visual design, and user experience (UX) design
- Strong understanding of incorporating accessibility and practicing inclusive design.
- Proficiency in creating test-oriented design components and patterns
- Strong understanding of responsive web design and mobile platform-specific guidelines
- Familiarity with design system asset management using version control
- Firm Understanding of industry-wide dev hand-off best practices
- Proficiency in Figma Design Libraries
- Expertise and strong hold on Figma Auto Layout, Constraints, and Properties
- Familiarity with documentation tools like Notion, ZeroHeight, etc.
- Understanding of the Modular Design Comoponent and Design System Component Lifecycle
- In-depth understanding of handling breaking and non-breaking design changes
- Understanding of Version Control System and hands-on experience with tools like Sourcetree or CLI for asset management
- Basic understanding of front-end development and coding languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Familiarity with platform-specific design capabilities and limitations that influence design system implementation on Web, Android, and iOS platforms.
