BCN plays a critical role in supporting Bain's case teams globally to help with analytics and research across all industries, for corporate cases, client development, private equity diligence or Bain intellectual property. The BCN comprises of Consulting Services, Knowledge Services and Shared Services.

**WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH**:
The ESG Associate role would focus on leading smaller ESG cases/workstreams independently and at times driving the analysis of more complicated cases with significant direction from a Project Leader. The individual will be delivering quality analysis and generating strong business insights while contributing towards the earth’s future.

Associates will work on sustainability projects across any geography or industry while managing 1-3 Analysts. Over time, the individual will be expected to develop and demonstrate expertise on ESG as a topic, working with stakeholders such as clients, Bain case teams, and other senior stakeholders within the firm (Chief Sustainability Officer, CFO, COO, etc.) as well as Bain & Company’s Sustainability & Responsibility practice.

Associates provide feedback and coach Analysts on task execution and role. The expectation is to eventually provide significant direction and support to resolve complex issues and effectively manage client and team meetings.

**WHAT YOU’LL DO**:

- Takes end-to-end ownership of smaller cases/ own workstreams while managing the work quality of analysts
- Able to quickly come up to speed on ESG topics for different businesses and perform research and analysis across all geographies and industries
- Able to provide solid business judgment to derive answers in situations where data is not easily available or explicitly published
- Proficient at identifying and using the relevant analytical tools and ensuring zero-defect in all work streams and quality work delivery
- Able to interface with primary client contact (Bain case teams from any global office)
- Understands client needs and situations and adapts to case expectations. Helps project leader to resolve complex issues across work streams
- Have first-level team management responsibility which involves allocating and reviewing work to a small team of analysts and helping project leader for performance discussions
- Communicates content, and clearly explains insights and implications for the client to the entire team. Generates and screens realistic answers based on sound reality checks and recommends actionable solutions

**ABOUT YOU**:

- Extensive knowledge and experience in qualitative and quantitative data research related to sustainability initiatives, ESG submissions, and carbon emission
- Experience with ESG-based databases such as MSCI, CDP, Sustainalytics, etc.
- Experience in tool-based/non-tool-based data analytics such as Carbon Footprint assessment, customized analysis on underlying emission factors, data modeling on office emission data; Feasibility and Scenario analysis for different carbon reduction initiatives, etc.
- Experience in leading projects, designing, and maintaining project-wise operational data including work allocation, feedback, status report, etc.
- Experience in management and communication with multiple stakeholders and third-party organizations providing services to Sustainability & Responsibility practice
- Incumbent should be a graduate from a top-tier College with strong academic records with ~3-4 years of experience or a Postgraduate from a top-tier College with 0-2 years of experience.
- Have experience in ESG-related work (Carbon policies, Footprint calculation, Standards, Environment related databases, ESG research, benchmarking, etc.)
- Incumbent should possess excellent work planning, communication, and team skills, and be able to handle multiple tasks
- Incumbent should possess excellent excel and data analytics skills and familiarity with Tableau, PowerPoint, and or Alteryx
- Ability to interact with staff at all levels in a fast-paced environment with quick turnaround deliverables, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient, demonstrating the highest levels of professionalism
