The Risk & Controls position is a highly visible and pivotal role to enable the Downstream portfolio to meet all Information Risk Management, Controls and Compliance challenges now and in the future. The incumbent needs to drive delivery through the DS SOM to ensure risk, controls and compliance requirements are met in a standard and coordinated fashion, including the follow-up of all formal findings and remediation. Delivery requires close co-operation with (external) auditors, Second Line of Defense (Information Risk Management) and internal IT stakeholders.

**What's the role**

As an IT Risk & Compliance Advisor, you will bring to bear a unique combination of skills; combining expertise on IT General Controls, Audit, Governance Risk & Compliance (GRC), strategic thinking, stakeholder management, and a solid ability to work with/through others to continually deliver in this highly critical environment.
- Coordinate and drive SOX audit discussions for DS SOM Class of Business working with multiple internal stakeholders and external auditors. Achieve completion of SOX testing phases within deadlines
- Be the primary contact providing consultation and resolution of matters relating to compliance with Key and Non Key controls
- Evaluating the efficiency of controls and work with relevant Business SOMs to improve/automate
- Facilitate issues identified during testing and monitoring. Plan and work with control owners and operators and the relevant testing team.
- Be actively involved in process and control design, working towards control standardization and best practices includes Risk & Control Identification (RCI) and Project Delivery.
- Work closely together with our Control Owners and Operators and monitor and steer them where needed.

**What we need from you**
- 4-year Bachelor's degree in any related courses.
- 8-12 years of total IT experience in a corporate setting with at least 3 years in Risk Controls/Compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and explain to others how controls fulfil control objectives, mitigate risk and specifies improvements to control design and operations where required.
- Experience in determining operational control deficiencies and leads identification, implementation and tracking of remediation.
- Proven knowledge of SOX and IT controls and control frameworks (e.g. Cobit, COSO, ISO).
- An industry recognized certification (i.e ISO 27001 or CISM) will be an advantage or extensive experience working with the Shell IT Control Framework.
- Able to provide cost-benefit analysis to justify investment in controls to mitigate risks.
