A Press Tool Designer is responsible for designing and developing press tools used in sheet metal stamping processes, ensuring optimal functionality and quality by collaborating with engineering and production teams, utilizing CAD software to create detailed designs, and adhering to industry standards and safety regulations; key duties include conducting feasibility studies, designing die layouts, prototyping, testing, and optimizing tooling to meet production requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

- **Design and Development**:

- Create detailed 2D and 3D designs for press tools using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks,, AutoCAD) based on product specifications and manufacturing requirements.
- Design die layouts for progressive, compound and deep draw, tooling.
- Conduct component feasibility studies to assess design limitations and potential issues.
- Select appropriate materials for tooling components considering wear resistance and strength.
- Incorporate design features for efficient material flow and mínimal scrap generation.
- **Prototyping and Testing**:

- Develop and build prototypes of press tools for testing and validation.
- Conduct comprehensive testing of tooling to evaluate performance, including dimensional accuracy, strength, and cycle time.
- Analyze test data to identify areas for improvement and make necessary design modifications.
- **Collaboration**:

- Work closely with product engineers, production teams, and manufacturing engineers to understand design requirements and production constraints.
- Provide technical support during tool build and installation.
- Collaborate with toolmakers to ensure accurate tool construction.
- **Documentation and Compliance**:

- Maintain detailed engineering drawings, BOMs, and design documentation.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
- Document design changes and modifications.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks,, AutoCAD) with strong sheet metal design capabilities.
- Understanding of sheet metal forming principles and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of tooling materials, heat treatment, and surface finishing techniques.
- Experience in designing progressive dies, blanking dies, forming dies, and bending dies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
