School Counselor

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
- **Individual Counseling**: Provide one-on-one counseling to students on personal, academic, and social issues to support their overall well-being and development.
- **Group Counseling**: Conduct group sessions on topics such as stress management, conflict resolution, peer relationships, self-esteem, and coping skills.
- **Academic Guidance**: Assist students with academic planning, goal setting, and strategies for overcoming learning challenges.
- **Behavioral Interventions**: Develop and implement behavior management plans for students struggling with behavioral issues and work with teachers on effective strategies.
- **Parent and Teacher Collaboration**: Regularly communicate with parents and teachers to address students’ needs, progress, and any areas of concern.
- **Crisis Intervention**: Provide immediate support during crises, such as family issues, health emergencies, or school incidents, and ensure students receive the help they need.
- **Program Development**: Design and implement age-appropriate programs and workshops to promote mental health awareness, anti-bullying strategies, and emotional well-being.
- **Record Keeping**: Maintain detailed and confidential records of counseling sessions, interventions, and follow-up actions.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**: Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
- **Certification**: Relevant counseling certification, such as a School Counselor Certification, is preferred.
- **Skills**:

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Empathy and cultural sensitivity
- Knowledge of child and adolescent psychology
- Effective problem-solving and crisis management skills
