Job Title: Outboard Mechanics
Location: Multiple States Across Australia
Employment Type: Full-Time (38-40 hours per week)
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Outboard Mechanic to perform planned, preventative, and breakdown maintenance on a variety of vessels and barges. The role involves repair and maintenance work on ship systems, installation and repairs of propulsion machinery, gearboxes, auxiliary engines, pumps, winches, cranes, and other mechanical systems. Responsibilities also include dockyard slipping works and general maintenance of vessel and barge hulls and structures.
**Responsibilities**:
- Use vertical ladders, gangways, floating pontoons.
- Work well in a team or solo. Able to lead and mentor apprentices
- Follow verbal and written instructions.
- Hold desirable tickets, crane, forklift, MR/HR license
- Self-starter able to identify maintenance opportunities
- Conduct scheduled maintenance inspections and services to prevent future breakdowns
- Prepare detailed reports on the work carried out and parts used
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technological advancements
- Prioritise safety at all times and ensure a clean and organized work environment
**Requirements**:
- Diesel, Hydraulic, 12/24v DC Electrical
- Confined Space/Working at heights (or ability to obtain)
- 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- Strong customer service orientation and the ability to communicate technical information effectively.
- MED/Class qualification (preferable but not required)
- Computer skills in Word, Excel and familiarity or ability to learn EAM systems
- Demonstrated English language proficiency, which usually involves passing an IELTS or equivalent test
- Formal qualification in Marine Mechanics or a related Automotive Trades field
Pay: ₹8,373.77 - ₹35,421.84 per month
