**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Review and analyze inpatient medical records for appropriate documentation.
- Assign accurate ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and MS-DRG codes based on physician documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all federal regulations, official coding guidelines, and client-specific coding policies.
- Meet or exceed productivity and accuracy benchmarks (95%+ coding accuracy expected).
- Collaborate with physicians and clinical teams to clarify diagnoses and procedures.
- Participate in audits and quality assurance checks as needed.
- Maintain the confidentiality of patient records and company information.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**: Graduate in Life Sciences, Nursing, or related medical background.
- **Certifications**: CPC, CCS, or CCA (AHIMA or AAPC certified) preferred.
- **Experience**: Minimum 1 year of inpatient coding experience with DRG assignment; knowledge of MS-DRG/APR-DRG is a must.
- Sound knowledge of **ICD-10-CM/PCS coding systems** and **DRG grouping logic**.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with EHR systems, Encoder tools, and medical coding software.

**Preferred Skills**:

- Experience with EPIC, 3M Encoder, TruCode, or similar systems.
- Exposure to quality audits and client communication.
- Up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines, regulatory changes, and payer policies.
