Job Summary:
Key Responsibilities:

- **Customer Service**:

- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases.
- Answer customer inquiries regarding products, services, and store policies.
- Handle customer complaints and escalate issues to the Store Manager when necessary.
- **Transaction Handling**:

- Operate the cash register and manage transactions accurately.
- Process cash, credit/debit card payments, and other forms of transactions.
- Ensure the security of cash, checks, and other negotiable items.
- **Cash Management**:

- Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure the amounts are correct and that there is adequate change.
- Reconcile daily transactions and prepare bank deposits.
- Maintain accurate records of transactions and provide reports as required.
- **Store Maintenance**:

- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized checkout area.
- Support other store operations as needed, including stocking shelves and organizing products.
- **Compliance**:

- Follow all store policies and procedures regarding cash handling and security.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

- **Education**:

- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- **Experience**:

- Previous experience as a cashier or in a customer service role is preferred.
- Experience in a retail environment, especially in a têxtile or apparel store, is an advantage.
- **Skills**:

- Excellent numerical and cash handling skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic computer skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
