GFC Financial Accounting (FA) is responsible to provide outstanding Financial Control support in the areas of Period End Close, Accounting control & assurance and Site Reporting (GRCA reporting/Regulatory Reporting, MI and manual returns). FA is a very important function under the overall umbrella of Financial control. FA ensures that there are adequate controls / checks on the sourcing, preparation and reporting of all outputs to be produced by the FR team.

**The Opportunity**:
**Service Delivery**
- Preparation/Review of B/S, P/L Schedules and consolidated final accounts per UK GAAP /IFRS/
- Strong analytical skills for variance analysis.
- Preparation of journals
- Strong technical knowledge of Accounting and reporting principles.
- Should be proficient in Financial statement closure procedures
- Ability to meet KPI timelines including under stringent time lines and high pressure situations
- Excellent communication skills to be able to manage the In-country team on a daily basis.
- Ability to prioritize and plan work in an efficient manner

**Risks & Controls**
- Ensure SOPs are updated and tested by back ups
- Adherence to Group policies, IFRS reporting requirements, audit, controls and compliance requirements.
- Ensure testing of processes per BC plan

**What you’ll do**:
**Customer/ Stakeholder**
- Excellent communication skills to be able to understand and provide satisfactory service delivery to In-Country team.
- Respond to queries from senior group level management as appropriate
- Pro-active approach to be able to deal with new requirements, ad-hoc requests and unusual variances.

**Key Customers**
- In country FA teams
- Global projects teams
- Other internal customers

**Transformation/Transition**
- Support transitions of new processes
- Execute Transformation and Integration Initiatives

Requirements

**What you will need to succeed in the role**:

- Pursuing CA and has completed 12 months of internship
- Excellent communication skills, including experience of explaining complex technical matters simply
- Very strong Excel and Access skills to interpret high data volume
