**Safety Officer Responsibilities in Construction**

**1. Site Safety Planning**
- Prepare and implement the **Site Safety Plan**.
- Identify potential hazards and develop risk mitigation strategies.
- Conduct Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and risk assessments before major work begins.

**2. Compliance & Regulations**
- Ensure all activities comply with:

- Local labor laws
- Construction safety standards.
- Maintain and update safety documentation for audits and inspections.

**3. Safety Training & Induction**
- Conduct **Safety Induction Programs** for all new workers and contractors.
- Arrange periodic safety training and toolbox talks.
- Educate workers on proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

**4. Inspections & Monitoring**
- Conduct regular **site safety inspections** to identify unsafe practices or conditions.
- Ensure safety signage and barricading are in place.
- Monitor high-risk activities like scaffolding, excavation, welding, working at height, etc.

**5. Incident & Accident Management**
- Investigate all accidents, near-misses, or safety violations.
- Prepare **incident reports** and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain records of injuries, unsafe conditions, and compliance actions.

**6. Emergency Preparedness**
- Develop and implement **emergency response plans** (fire, electrical, collapse, etc.).
- Ensure availability and readiness of fire extinguishers, alarms, first-aid kits.
- Conduct mock drills for fire and evacuation.

**7. PPE Management**
- Ensure all workers wear correct PPE (helmets, gloves, safety shoes, reflective vests, etc.).
- Maintain inventory and issue records for PPE.
- Replace or repair damaged safety equipment promptly.

**8. Coordination & Reporting**
- Liaise with project managers, site engineers, and contractors on safety matters.
- Report regularly to senior management on safety performance and improvements.
- Participate in safety audits conducted by external or internal agencies.

**9. Documentation & Records**
- Maintain:

- Safety checklists
- Inspection logs
- Training attendance sheets
- Accident/incident registers
- Keep a record of statutory compliance documents like EHS reports.

**10. Promote Safety Culture**
- Encourage reporting of unsafe conditions without fear of punishment.
- Reward safe behavior and set a positive example for the team.
- Continuously work toward creating a **"Zero Accident Culture"**.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
