Storage & Backup SME (L2/L3)

Role Description: The Storage & Backup SME would need to have at least 6-8 years of experience in NAS/SAN technologies and on Veeam/NetBackup/Commvault products.

Requirements/Must Haves:

- Required Skills - Deep Technical skills in Storage & SAN Domains.
- In depth knowledge (L3) of one or more storage subsystems like /EMC/QNAP/Hitachi/HP/NetApp/Dell
- In depth knowledge on SAN switch/SAN director
- Experience in configuration and patching of storage subsystems is preferred
- Experience in Storage data replication techniques for any storage subsystems
- Should be well versed and conversant with any of the Storage Replication techniques.
- Experience in Performance Analysis and Tuning of any storage subsystems is mandatory.
- Establish schedule and implement backup and restore processes to maintain continued availability of mission critical data
- Perform initial backup and restore test
- Provide recommendations regarding backup and recovery procedures or processes that can improve levels of protection, efficiencies, and cost reductions
- Perform backups on systems as per agreed schedule based on proposed solution
- Perform daily incremental online backups on systems per schedule and customer's requirements.
- Verify that the backup/restore status and take appropriate action based on the status (success/fail)
- Provide audit trail of backup/restore processes
- Creating, editing, restoring, deleting snapshots
- Coordinate with other teams like server, storage, network to fix the backup related issues
- Proactively working towards fixing the environmental issues - backup space, offsite backup retention, policy fine tuning etc.
- Develop procedures for routine administration including backup/restore, shutdown and startup document accordingly
- Capability of resolving majority of complex configuration problems by troubleshooting and simulation.
- Deep technical problem isolation and resolution capability

Ability to correlate incident trends into problem management and execute permanent fixes
