We, at Jet2 (UK’s third largest airlines and the second largest tour operator), have set up a state-of-the-art Technology and Innovation Centre in Pune, India. We are expanding our Data Science competency to increase revenue, improve operational efficiency and deliver high quality service to our customers. We are looking for a Data Scientist to join us in this exciting journey to transform our organization by leveraging data.

**A typical day in the life of data scientist at Jet2**:

- Gain knowledge from business stakeholders and understand the problem statement
- Brainstorm with data science team on workable solutions
- Talk to data engineering, product owners, business intelligence teams to gauge the data availability, quality, and architecture
- Ideate and experiment to build POCs
- Validate the POC to create a working prototype and visualize the results
- Work with ML engineers to deploy the solution
- Most importantly, have fun

**Experience and Knowledge**
- Good understanding of the Machine Learning Model Development Lifecycle
- Hands-on experience of building ML solutions
- Good understanding of data warehousing and data engineering concepts
- Rich experience of working with regions such as US, UK, Europe or Australia
- Liaise with the Data Engineers, Technology Leaders & Business Stakeholder
- Working knowledge of Agile framework

**Skills and Behaviours Required**

We are looking for data scientists who are passionate about data and technology
- 2-6 years of strong relevant experience building ML models
- Excellent team player who acts as a key member of the team sharing knowledge & experience
- Strong technical skills in following key stack:

- o Python, R, PySpark or Julia
- o RDBMS - Snowflake, MySQL, Oracle or SQLServer
- o SQL Querying - Basic to Advanced
- o Visualization: Creating dashboards in Tableau/PowerBI Dashboard Advanced ML Framework - Scikit Learn, Good to have exposure of TensorFlow & PyTorch
- Strong theory and mathematical knowledge of Machine Learning Models
- Good to have experience of Deep Learning
- Methodical approach with good attention to detail
- Strong communication skills - Ability to work with international teams and across cultures

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s or master's degree in information technology engineering, Computer Science or equivalent from reputed institute
- Preference given to GitHub portfolio, Kaggle Ranking and Data Science Certification
- Good to have some background of Airlines or Travel domain
