Key Responsibilities:

- Database Installation and Configuration:

- Install and configure PostgreSQL database software on servers and ensure proper setup.
- Perform database migrations, upgrades, and patch installations.
- Database Design and Optimization:

- Optimize database performance by analyzing query execution plans, indexing strategies, and system resource utilization.
- Tune database parameters and configurations to improve overall system performance.
- Database Monitoring and Maintenance:

- Monitor and maintain the health, availability, and security of PostgreSQL database systems.
- Set up database monitoring tools and implement proactive measures to identify and resolve issues.
- Perform regular database backups, implement disaster recovery strategies, and ensure data integrity.
- Performance Tuning and Query Optimization:

- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks by analyzing SQL queries and suggesting optimizations.
- Conduct capacity planning to anticipate future database growth and resource requirements.
- Database Security and Access Control:

- Implement and enforce security policies and access controls to safeguard sensitive data.
- Manage user accounts, roles, and privileges to ensure appropriate data access levels.
- Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:

- Investigate and resolve database-related issues, such as connectivity problems, data corruption, and performance degradation.
- Maintain documentation and knowledge base to capture troubleshooting steps and solutions.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven work experience as a PostgreSQL Database Administrator or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL database architecture, administration, and performance optimization.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with query optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with backup and recovery strategies, disaster recovery planning, and high availability configurations.
