**Key Responsibilities**:

- 1. Blueprint Interpretation and Layout:_

Analyze and follow blueprints and layout specifications to plan the sequence of operations.
- 2. Setup and Preparation:_

Set up face blocks, jigs, and fixtures for the assembly process.

Mark center lines and reference points on floors or face blocks, using tools such as tape, chains, plumb bobs, and squares, and transpose them to the workpiece.
- 3. Positioning and Alignment of Parts:_

Move and align parts manually or using hoists and cranes.

Use jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars, and hammers to achieve precise alignment.

Tighten braces, jacks, clamps, ropes, or bolt straps, or bolt parts into position for welding or riveting.
- 4. Surface Preparation and Adjustment:_

Remove high spots and bevel edges using hand files, portable grinders, and cutting torches.

Direct welders to build up low spots or short pieces as needed.

Straighten warped or bent parts using tools such as sledges, hand torches, straightening presses, or bulldozers.
- 5. Assembly Support:_

Position parts and ensure alignment with braces or other supports before final welding or riveting.

Erect ladders and scaffolding for large assemblies and may use transit tools to locate reference points.

May perform tack welding, being designated as a Fitter-Tacker when applicable.

**Qualifications and Skills**:
Proven experience in metal fitting, structural fabrication, or a similar role.

Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

Knowledge of geometry, material properties, and welding techniques.

Proficient with tools and machinery used for alignment, straightening, and metal preparation.

Strong understanding of safety protocols and guidelines in a fabrication shop.

**Work Conditions**:
Must be comfortable working at heights when required.

**Preferred Certifications**:
Welding certification or knowledge of basic tack welding is an advantage.

ITI or Diploma in Mechanical, Fitter Trade, or equivalent qualification.

Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in an engineering or manufacturing environment.

Good knowledge of fitting techniques, materials, and mechanical assembly processes.

Familiarity with tools and equipment related to the fitter's job.

Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications.

Pay: From ₹25,000.00 per month
