Logistics Coordinator

**Position Summary**:
The Logistics Coordinator for one of our client's plant in Bangalore will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of inbound and outbound logistics to ensure timely delivery of raw materials, components, and finished products. Reporting to the Operations Head or Logistics Manager, the Logistics Coordinator will play a key role in optimizing transportation, warehousing, and inventory management processes to support efficient manufacturing operations.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**1. Inbound Logistics**:

- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to schedule deliveries of raw materials and components according to production requirements.
- Ensure timely receipt and inspection of incoming shipments, verifying quantities and quality against purchase orders.
- Manage documentation and customs clearance processes for imported materials, if applicable.

**2. Outbound Logistics**:

- Plan and schedule outbound shipments of finished products to customers, distributors, or other locations.
- Coordinate with transportation providers, freight forwarders, and carriers to arrange pickups and deliveries.
- Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading, export declarations, and shipping labels.

**3. Inventory Management**:

- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, components, and finished products to prevent stockouts and excess inventory.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical and system records.
- Implement inventory control measures to optimize storage space and minimize carrying costs.

**4. Warehousing and Distribution**:

- Oversee warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and distribution activities.
- Ensure efficient utilization of warehouse space and resources to support just-in-time manufacturing processes.
- Implement safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment in the warehouse.

**5. Transportation Optimization**:

- Identify opportunities to optimize transportation routes and modes to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
- Consolidate shipments and coordinate multi-modal transportation solutions to minimize transit times and transportation expenses.
- Monitor carrier performance and negotiate freight rates and service contracts to achieve cost savings.

**6. Documentation and Reporting**:

- Maintain accurate records of all logistics activities, including shipping documents, inventory records, and transportation contracts.
- Generate regular reports on key logistics metrics, such as on-time delivery performance, inventory turnover, and transportation costs.
- Analyze data and provide insights to management for decision-making and process improvement initiatives.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field; relevant certifications or training is a plus.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in logistics coordination or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Strong understanding of logistics principles, transportation modes, and warehouse operations.
- Proficiency in using logistics software and ERP systems for inventory management and transportation planning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and record-keeping.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Knowledge of customs regulations, import/export procedures, and international shipping is desirable.

Pay: From ₹25,000.00 per month
