- Roles and Responsibility
- Desired Competencies1. Understanding of automotive interior and exterior design.- 2. Knowledge of technical surfacing and the Digital modeling tools (Class A Surfacing tools).- 3. Knowledge of product design engineering, and manufacturing processes (Mold, press tool, casting etc.).- 4. Having design flair to interpret design language, design theme and design directions.- 5. An eye for a detail and good sensitivity towards form and shapes Ability to create production quality models using the engineering/manufacturing requirements.- 6. Ability to identify and solve the quality issues/defects of surface model.- 7. Ability to collaborate effectively with team and ensure the built math is well harmonized with the overall design intent of the project.- 8. Ability to communicate ideas visually, verbally and in writing.- 9. Quick learner and adaptable to learn new surface and solid modeling tools.**Job Description**:
1. Create quality, accurate 3D digital surface models that communicate conceptual design intent.- 2. Develop math models from concept stage to production ready quality for tooling release.- 3. Interpret 2D sketches and renderings into 3D surfaces.- 4. Coordinate & work collaboratively with design and engineering teams of local and global regions.- 5. Create digital surface models capturing design intent from sketches, concept themes and scan data.- 6. Should provide alternative proposals and capture design Intent creatively.- 7. Deliver production quality surfaces and ensures surface meet organizational standards in quality and time.- 8. Closely work with team to support workload planning.- 9. Work closely with exterior, interior design and packaging engineers to incorporate all feasibility criteria and create surfaces that meet the criteria.- 10.
