Compliance Stewardship team at CoE supports Compliance teams across Group, regions and business lines with Governance and Oversight of their stewardship responsibilities.

Team also supports Group Capability team RC within the Compliance function to sets standards and infrastructure to support stewardship of Regulatory Compliance risks for the group.

The role is a forward looking role to support the risk appetite (Monthly), Scenario Analysis, Stress Testing and Capital Management (bi-annual) requirements for Group Regulatory Conduct

The Opportunity:
Consolidating and summarising managment information from various HSBC risk systems and producing MI for senior risk management forums, including information on escalations, and agreed actions

Perfoming thematic analysis based on historic MI in HSBC systems in order to identify emerging and crystalised riks themes

Role holder must be able to work comfortably within a fluid and developing framework.

The successful applicant will need to have excellent data analysis skills, Regulatory Conduct knowledge, an inquisitive and investigative mind-set, good report writing and communication skills, as well as a good understanding of project management techniques, in order to achieve the team’s objectives

What you’ll do:
Principal Accountabilities

Consolidating and summarising managment information from various HSBC risk systems and producing MI for senior risk management forums, including information on escalations, and agreed actions

Perfoming thematic analysis based on historic MI in HSBC systems in order to identify emerging and crystalised riks themes

Working with data management teams and Project teams to oversee the design and implementation of data management and technical solutions to ensure relevant risk data and information is available via a user-friendly front-end reporting tool and other reportings

Support the design and management of Risk Appetite, Risk Maps for Regulatory Conduct risk at HSBC.

Perform data analysis and support the execution of Scenario Analysis, Stress Testing and Capital Management on a bi-annual basis

Create succint and insightfull commentaries for the purposes of RC risk management tools, such as the Risk Appetite Statement and Risk Maps.

To support decisions with sound reasoning, clearly articulate the case for risk management and policy and the business and regulatory implications of analysis and findings.

Supporting responsibilities / capabilities
- Maintain effective relationship with business areas and identify areas of improvements through continuous communication across stakeholders.
- Encourage constructive cross-country and cross-business teamwork by demonstrating collaboration and matrix management
- Escalate key stakeholder issues in an effective way to ensure timely resolution
- Identify Re-engineering / Automation opportunities across processes/systems to improve efficiency, in turn reducing lead time, improve consistency/quality/ cost saves
- Providing input into the design of and implementing enhancements to risk framework components, managing the incorporation of Compliance requirements within the overall risk framework and strategy.
- Assist in creating & maintaining an environment within the team which fosters free sharing of knowledge & ideas developing soft skills and technical competency for self

Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

- Risk Frameworks - Excellent knowledge and understanding of: Enterprise Risk Management Framework and Operational Risk Management Framework. An understanding of the concepts supporting a risk management framework, the lines of defence and how they interact and how a risk profile is established, with key risks identified and appropriate controls mapped. Knowledge of how a risk profile can be challenged and remediation activities tracked
- Risk Appetite and Scenario and stress testing: Understanding and experience in risk appetite monitoring for non-financial risk along with Scenario Analysis, Stress Testing, Capital Management methodologies.
- Regulatory Risks - Knowledge of the wider regulatory environment and some idea of the likely regulatory risks and upcoming changes that are mostly likely to impact HSBC and which areas of our business are likely to be most affected. Knowledge and understanding of the global regulatory environment and key compliance risk trends as well as practitioner-level knowledge of regulatory obligations in multiple jurisdictions;
- Project management skills - A good understanding of project management techniques and experience in project delivery would be desirable, successful delivery within a change / project environment;
- As a highly motivated and dynamic self-starter, working collaboratively within teams, delivering on time and with a strong attention to detail. inter-personal skills and
