As a Fuel Cell HIL Engineer, you will have opportunities to contribute on complex projects via Simulation and Validation of complex electrical and mechanical systems pertaining to Fuel cell controls. This will involve testing and validating world class control features using HIL benches. This role directly impacts Caterpillar's current and future Fuel Cell products being developed in an R&D environment.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

- Perform Black box testing and White box testing using simulators like Opal-RT, dSPACE, etc
- Run and execute test plans in fuel cell simulators and HIL benches
- Modify and convert fuel cell simulation models using MATLAB/Simulink tools for HIL Bench
- Develop automation scripts using Python and other tools
- Perform complex analysis, identify, and solve challenging fuel cell controls software problems

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/ Electronics/ Mechanical Engineering
- Relevant work experience required: Bachelors 3 to 7 years' experience, Masters 2 to 5 years' experience with HIL testing, wiring harness, commissioning of HIL bench and fuel cell or battery controls validation or modelling.
- Experience in debugging and running test cases on fuel cell simulators and other HIL simulators
- Experience in plant model integration using tools like Matlab/Simulink, RT-Sim, Vector Canape, etc
- Experience and knowledge with Controls SW development and Validation
- Experience and knowledge with Fuel Cell control system and battery software validation using HIL Benches
- Advanced knowledge of Matlab / Simulink with a focus on controls development and code-generation for embedded platforms
- Good knowledge on Software testing and scripting tools like Canalyzer, Python, etc
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Self-starter with strong technical leadership skills
- Enjoys working in a fast paced, technically challenging environment
