Job Location - Mohali, Punjab

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the development and review of the department's curriculum, ensuring alignment with current political science trends and industry needs.
- Oversee the design and delivery of undergraduate and graduate level political science courses.
- Monitor teaching quality by evaluating faculty performance and providing feedback.
- Foster a stimulating learning environment that encourages critical thinking and debate among students.

**Research Promotion**:

- Encourage faculty research activities by providing support for grant proposals, research leave, and publication opportunities.
- Lead or participate in research projects on relevant political topics, contributing to the field's knowledge base.
- Organize research seminars and conferences to disseminate research findings.

**Faculty Management**:

- Hire qualified faculty members to maintain a strong department.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide mentorship to faculty members
- Address faculty concerns and resolve departmental disputes

**Student Support**:

- Provide academic advising to students, guiding them in course selection and career planning
- Oversee student organizations and initiatives related to political science
- Foster a positive student experience within the department

**Administrative Duties**:

- Prepare and manage the department budget, allocating resources effectively
- Collaborate with other departments and administrative units within the institution
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to department activities
- Represent the department at university committees and external meetings

Required Qualifications:

- A Ph.D. in Political Science with a **strong publication record in relevant academic journals**:

- Extensive teaching experience at the university level, preferably in diverse political science areas
- Demonstrated leadership skills in managing academic departments
- Knowledge of current political issues and trends, both domestic and international
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with faculty, students, and administrators
