**POSITION PURPOSE**

IDP are looking for DevOps Architect who want to do important work, with a totally modern tech stack, in an environment where we are constantly improving our Software Engineering, and importantly we deliver high quality software each sprint.

**RESPONSIBILITIES***
- My passion for always improving is contagious. I know software development is a team sport, and I think of myself as a sort of software coach. My credibility helps people move forward in their software engineering journey.
- I plan the Work and work the Plan. I like having a plan for where we want to take Software Engineering and roll-up my sleeves to do the hard work to make it so.
- Modern Software Engineering is my passion. I really love all aspects of improving the way Software is engineered, delivered, and operated. Lots of people talk about DevSecOps, CI/CD, Shift Left, SAST, DAST - I know when the right time is to move ahead with each of these for a given team, and how to achieve the outcome, not just the buzzword.
- Senior Leaders Trust me. I’m confident enough to talk truth to power. Leaders know I don’t exaggerate, distort or cover-up news.
- I make things better: I get great joy from helping teams move along the DevSecOps maturity curve. After spending a short amount of time with a team, I understand where they are at in their maturity journey and help them plot their course. I love working closely with Software Engineers to break through any concerns they may have in adopting new approaches.
- People ask for me by name. I have a reputation as someone that people pull in when there is a tough problem to solve. Software Engineers, Developers, Security teams all ask for me to be involved in their initiatives - they know I make a difference.

- Automation Powerhouse. You know what can, and should, be automated in Software Engineering and Delivery. You will have practical experience tools like Jira, Git, Gitlab, Docker, SonarQube, Pytest, Junit, Jest, Selenium, ReadyAPI, X-ray, Splunk, Sumologic, Snyk
- Metrics and Measurement. Across our business we use data to understand how we’re performing. You’ll be smart about using data to drive adoption and measure progress.
- Innovator and Thought Leader. IDP are always looking to improve. We value Software experts who float ideas, improve our standards, share knowledge - you will have a history of these sorts of things.
- Serverless & IaC. With few exceptions IDP utilize AWS Serverless services which continues to give us fantastic flexibility to deliver business features. You will have practical experience with the most common AWS serverless services (Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS) or their Azure/GCP equivalents. We do all our provisioning using IaC and are currently migrating over to AWS CDK from Terraform.
