Job Summary- JM - Quality, Food Safety & Regulatory is responsible for executing and upholding quality assurance processes within the factory, ensuring strict compliance with corporate policies, organizational standards, and regulatory requirements. This role is pivotal in driving the implementation of quality strategies that align with overarching business objectives, while maintaining excellence in product quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance.- Key responsibilities include conducting comprehensive testing and validation of both new and existing products to ensure they meet the stringent standards set by the company, customers, and regulatory authorities. The role also encompasses managing regulatory affairs, ensuring full compliance with national and international food safety regulations. This includes overseeing regulatory submissions, facilitating product registrations, monitoring evolving regulatory frameworks, and liaising with government agencies and industry bodies to uphold compliance and industry best practices- Roles & Responsibilities-
**Quality Assurance & Compliance**
- Implement and oversee quality assurance processes to maintain product integrity.
- Ensure adherence to corporate quality policies, customer expectations, and regulatory mandates.
- Monitor compliance with regulatory agencies, customer requirements, corporate policies, and plant quality standards.
- Ensure the quality of raw materials (RM), packaging materials (PM), intermediates, and finished goods (FG) through intervention, inspection, and testing.
- Carry out internal and external audits as per the supplier approval and development program, as well as manage audits by customers or regulatory bodies.
- Ensure compliance with various quality measures and standards, including proper documentation.**Food Safety & Regulatory Compliance**
- Establish and enforce food safety management systems in line with HACCP, FSSAI, FDA, and other regulatory standards.
- Maintain and update compliance records, ensuring readiness for audits and inspections.
- Adhere to hygiene standards as per the Municipality Food Control Department guidelines and take corrective actions based on periodic inspections.
- Prepare and manage all required documentation for HACCP studies, implementation, and validation before manufacturing and product launches, including recipe specifications of RM/PM.
- Ensure that appropriate food safety and hygiene systems are followed across all areas of the factory.**Product Testing & Validation**
- Conduct rigorous quality testing of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
- Manage the in-house laboratory for quality control testing and regulatory compliance.
- Perform validation studies for new formulations, packaging, and production processes.
- Identify deviations, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.**Regulatory Affairs & Product Registration**
- Manage product registrations, licensing, and regulatory approvals for domestic and international markets.
- Prepare and submit regulatory documentation to government agencies and certification bodies.
- Provide inputs on quality, regulatory, and compliance requirements for new product development projects.
- Ensure compliance with food labeling regulations, ingredient declarations, and safety assessments.
- Maintain a regulatory database and track evolving global and regional food safety regulations.**Process Optimization & Risk Mitigation**
- Identify process inefficiencies and implement corrective actions to enhance product safety and quality.
- Conduct risk assessments and establish preventive measures to mitigate non-compliance risks.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and strengthen compliance.**Cross-functional Collaboration & Training**
- Work closely with production, procurement, and R&D teams to maintain stringent quality and safety standards.
- Provide regulatory guidance to cross-functional teams on compliance-related matters.
- Generate and present detailed reports on quality performance, audit findings, and regulatory updates.
- Manage plant sanitation and pest control to ensure GMP, HACCP, SSOP, and other food safety and quality standards are met.
- Provide training to employees from various departments on food hygiene, GMP, and food safety practices.
- KPIs- Ensure Food Safety & Quality of RM, PM & FG-Inprocess.
- Compliance to Quality System Procedure & Requirements
- Adherence to Product Quality through Effective Process Control, thereby reduce customer complaints.
- Arrange and deliver trainings on GHP & Food Safety
- Work experience requirement- 6-9 years of experience in Lab Analysis in mid-sized FMCG manufacturing company.
