**Job Title**: Medical Coder (CPC Certified) - IPDRG Expertise

**Job Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Medical Coding**: Accurately assign ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes to patient records based on physician documentation.
- **IPDRG Application**: Utilize IPDRG classification system to assign diagnosis-related groups to inpatient claims, ensuring that codes match with patient diagnoses and treatments.
- **Claims Processing**: Process and review medical claims for insurance companies, ensuring that all codes are compliant with payer requirements and regulations.
- **Documentation Review**: Review medical records and physician notes to verify the accuracy of coding and identify any discrepancies or errors.
- **Coding Compliance**: Maintain strict adherence to regulatory standards and coding guidelines to ensure compliance with legal and insurance requirements.
- **Collaboration**: Work closely with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and internal teams to resolve coding issues, clarify discrepancies, and ensure prompt claim resolution.
- **Auditing & Quality Assurance**: Participate in routine audits and quality checks to maintain coding accuracy and efficiency.
- **Continuous Learning**: Stay updated with the latest coding standards, billing regulations, and healthcare industry changes.

**Required Qualifications**:

- **CPC Certification** (Certified Professional Coder) from AAPC or AHIMA.
- **Minimum 1-2 years** of experience in medical coding, with a strong understanding of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Experience with **IPDRG** or similar patient classification systems (such as DRG) is highly preferred.
- Proficient in **coding software** and **electronic health record (EHR)** systems.
- Strong understanding of **medical terminology**, anatomy, and physiology.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Experience working in a **hospital setting** or **healthcare provider office**.
- Additional certifications such as **Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)** or **Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC)** will be considered a plus.
- Familiarity with **insurance billing** and **reimbursement processes**.
