Production Chemist

The Production & R&D Chemist is responsible for developing and optimizing chemical processes for manufacturing, overseeing the production of chemical products, and conducting research to innovate and improve product formulations and manufacturing methods. This role combines hands-on production responsibilities with the innovative aspect of research and development, ensuring that the company stays competitive and complies with industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

- **Production Duties**:

- Oversee and manage daily chemical production processes.
- Monitor production to ensure adherence to safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct quality control tests to ensure products meet specifications.
- Maintain accurate production records and reports.
- **Research & Development**:

- Conduct research to develop new products and improve existing formulations.
- Design and execute experiments to test product efficacy and stability.
- Analyze experimental data and document findings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to scale up laboratory processes to production level.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, technologies, and regulations to ensure innovative and compliant product development.
- **Regulatory Compliance**:

- Ensure all production processes comply with local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Prepare and maintain necessary documentation for regulatory compliance.
- Assist in internal and external audits.
- **Collaboration and Communication**:

- Work closely with production staff, quality control, and management to ensure seamless operation and product quality.
- Communicate research findings and production issues effectively to stakeholders.
- Provide technical support and training to production personnel as needed.
- **Continuous Improvement**:

- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices.
- Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Qualifications:

- **Education**:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- **Experience**:

- 2-5 years of experience in a production or R&D role within the chemical industry.
- Proven track record of developing and scaling chemical processes.
- **Skills**:

- Strong knowledge of chemical manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Proficiency in analytical techniques and instrumentation (e.g., HPLC, GC, FTIR).
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to design and execute experiments methodically.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- **Technical Competencies**:

- Familiarity with safety protocols and regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
- Experience with process simulation software and laboratory information management systems (LIMS).

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to work in a laboratory and production environment, including standing for extended periods.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Work Environment:

- Laboratory and manufacturing plant settings with potential exposure to chemicals, fumes, and noise.
- Regular interaction with production staff, management, and regulatory personnel.

Pay: ₹10,632.18 - ₹28,034.53 per month
