Job Summary

This role is responsible for the custom clearance in India for shipments from/to our UK and US factories for export/import activities for product and materials for our end products and spare parts. Liaoning with site shipping team & CHA ensuring regulatory compliance for shipments, all essential shipping licences / documentation, and review of internal processes and procedures to ensure efficient operations of the team. Coordinating with India Global Sourcing team and expediting with all our export suppliers. The person needs to take care of domestic logistics also. This position will be based at our Bangalore office.

2.0 Principle

**Responsibilities**:
Responsible for all transactions related to imports and exports of all divisions and product lines of the company. Co-ordinates clearing and forwarding agents of all import's shipments.

Performs costing of all import shipments for goods in transit in the consignment data base.

Liaise with commercial and sales team about the pending order on various CFT facilities.

Coordinate with the export department and logistics providers for all in bound shipments into India.

Ensure all shipment are cleared in Demurrage free period.

Co-ordinates for inspection and necessary survey in case shipments arrive in open/torn/wet/damaged condition. Attends inspection of damaged goods during transit at airport/seaport along with the Insurance company's representative.

Obtain short lading certificate from Customs Authority. Files Insurance claims and follows up for payments/credit note with the insurance company. Coordinate local transportation company for timely delivery shipment to the end customer.

Checks and verifies CHA invoices for both imports, obtain approval from respective department Head and forwards these to Finance for payment.

Coordinate with Global sourcing team and expedite with all the global sourcing suppliers for OTD.

Coordinate with supplier's export department and nominated freight forwarder for timely pick up of the shipment.

Monitor the transit time ex works to CFT facilities and work with the logistic provider to reduce the transit time.

Prepare MIS on Import clearance, Supplier OTD, Export Transit time.

3.0 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of prevailing customs rules and regulations.

Knowledge of imports & exports procedures, customs/ bank/insurance documentations and formalities.

Knowledge of costing.

Knowledge of packaging products for shipping/delivery.

Knowledge of warehousing methodology.

Knowledge of inventory management practice

Good Communication skills.

Good Fluency in English
