**Roles and Responsibilities**

PURPOSE OF JOB

To carry out the biological testing of Spices and Spices products and other food and agricultural products as per specifications and on-time delivery of results

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Planning and coordination of Microbiological activities
- Prepare the pending report as per SAP/LIMS
- Monitoring all incoming samples for microbiological analysis
- Review test results and update the results in SAP/LIMS, communicate the results

to concerned functions in Company Spices wherever required.
- Coordinate with quality assurance and manufacturing facility for the hygiene

monitoring and EQMP

Supervision
- Allocate work, plan shifts and follow-up activities of lab assistants regularly
- Train staff to ensure adherence to all recommended lab procedures and

practices as per need
- Train subordinates about new method developments in microbiological field.
- Train handling point, plant etc. staff for ensuring quality control

Documentation and Compliance
- Provide reports for status of lab activities periodically to reporting officer
- Maintain documentation as per ISO 17025; 2017 guidelines
- Maintenance of current valid documents such as test methods

Planning and coordination of Microbiological lab maintenance
- Maintaining all lab equipments in current state of calibration in microbiology lab
- Coordinate with manager for lab chemicals and other consumables weekly or

need based
- Ensuring safety and maintenance of all lab equipment

Learning and Development
- Assist in developing new methods for quality analysis using internal and external

research
- Train officers for new technology absorption such as Rapid Microbiological

testing, VIDAS, Tempo etc.
- Update staff and facilities with latest quality norms of different

countries/institutions
