To provide fire safety advice and guidance to the Facilities Division, wider University and relevant committees to support the development of fire safety arrangements and procedures that meet legislative requirements and follow best practice, writing and publishing fire related guidance documentation for the Facilities Division and University.
- To develop, maintain, and review the implementation of the University fire safety policy, fire management arrangements and fire risk assessments, on behalf of the University and in conjunction with the University Safety Office, as part of the process of ensuring legal compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- To provide Fire Safety advice to Facilities Project Managers and design teams, to develop building fire strategies
- To develop and support Fire Safety arrangements with the Facilities Security and Portering department.
- To investigate Fire related incidents within the University and prepare reports and recommendations to minimize the risk of personal injury, fire and damage to property. Support the reporting of incident data within the University.
- To carry out fire safety audits and inspections to all parts of the University.
- To provide fire safety training courses for staff and students at the University.
- In conjunction with the Emergency Planning officer liaise with external fire and safety organisations and be a point of contact for relevant fire safety enforcement agencies.
- To assist in the liaison with the Facilities Safety and Compliance Manager in the development of Fire safety services for the University to meet future needs and standards as part of a continual improvement process.
- To act as the principal advisor to Health and Safety Groups on matters relating to fire safety, and to provide such reports as are required.
- To maintain an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of matters relevant to the post (including best sector practices and regulations) by means of literature searches, contacts with professional bodies, attending relevant meetings, courses, and conferences.
- To undertake other activities/responsibilities within their competence as directed by the line manager commensurate with the grade of the post.

**Salary**: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
