- **Territory management**: Develop and execute sales strategies within an assigned geographic area to achieve and surpass sales targets.
- **Customer relationships**: Build and maintain long-term, trusted relationships with clients, including individual farmers, local retailers, and distributors.
- **Market intelligence**: Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and gather feedback from customers to report to management and adjust strategies.
- **Sales promotion**: Organize and lead promotional events, such as farmer meetings ("Kissan Melas") and field days, to build brand awareness and educate end-users.
- **Reporting**: Prepare and deliver regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance metrics to management.
- **Inventory and collections**: Work with dealers to manage product inventory and ensure timely collection of payments.

Qualifications and skillsA successful pesticide sales representative typically possesses the following:

- **Education**: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agriculture (B.Sc. Agri / M.Sc. Agri) or a related field is often preferred, though experience can sometimes substitute.
- **Experience**: Previous sales experience in the agricultural inputs sector, such as with seeds, fertilizers, or other agrochemicals, is highly valued.
