Key Responsibilities:
- **Cleaning and Sanitation**:
Washing dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment. Cleaning and sanitizing all kitchen surfaces, floors, and food preparation areas.
- **Maintaining Cleanliness**:
Ensuring all areas of the kitchen are kept clean, organized, and free of debris. This includes emptying trash, sweeping, mopping, and wiping down surfaces.
- **Supporting Food Preparation**:
Assisting with basic food preparation tasks, such as chopping vegetables or preparing ingredients as needed.
- **Following Safety and Sanitation Procedures**:
Adhering to all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and waste disposal procedures.
- **Assisting with Other Tasks**:
Performing other duties as assigned by supervisors, such as stocking supplies, organizing storage areas, and assisting with deliveries.
- **Operating Equipment**:
Utilizing dishwashers and other cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
Skills and Qualifications:
- **Physical Stamina**:
Kitchen utility work can be physically demanding, requiring the ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
- **Attention to Detail**:
Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to following established procedures.
- **Teamwork**:
Kitchen utility workers often work as part of a team, so the ability to collaborate effectively is essential.
- **Knowledge of Sanitation Procedures**:
Understanding proper food handling and sanitation practices is crucial.
- **Ability to Follow Instructions**:
Kitchen utility workers need to be able to follow instructions from supervisors and adhere to established protocols.
